BUMTOWN.
an epic trash-musical.
by Ash Flanders & Declan Greene
original score by Rose Turtle Ertler
the
filthiest, noisiest, ugliest, most irritating trash-musical since
Pippin
SYNOPSIS.
When
sugar-sweet six-year-old Bitsy is kicked out onto the mean city
streets, she thinks all hope is lost. But after an enchanted sleep,
she finds herself magically transported to bUMTOWN: an idyllic
junkyard shanty-village, populated by hobos, homos, hookers, and
gutter-trash. Teaming up with fast-talking man-killing prostitute
Connie Horowitz, Bitsy sets to starting life afresh... However,
herhappiness is short-lived. A big, evil corporation is threatening
to bulldoze bUMTOWN, to make way for… A SHOPPING MALL. And worse
still, the town’s pompous Mayor would rather play rat-golf than
do anything about it. The answer: Bloody hobo-revolution!!
Will Bitsy save Bumtown in the end -- or will it crumble like
cardboard in the rain? What of Connie's love with the paint-sniffing
artist Squirrel? And most importantly, why are all the hobos singing
and dancing?

REVIEWS.
MICHAEL
MAGNUSSON, "MCV":
"The youthful cast howl the songs while accompanying themselves
by bashing an assortment of scrap metal with hammers and sticks
making sure that anything remotely resembling a show tune is beaten
to death."
MICHAEL
SCOTT, "THE PROGRAM":
"Nothing truly prepares you for the moment that the makeshift
curtain is drawn back to reveal the atonal abrasion that the Sisters
Grimm have pulled together in BUMTOWN."
