We have a new website!!!
It's pretty much just as shithouse as the old one, but it's easier to update, so there's something you can look forward to. #*(_*$(_*$R_#$)#_$)#_$090
We have a new show coming up! Read about it >>> HURRRR <<<
Here things that have happened in the last year:
-- We did a development on "Little Mercy" with STC, as part of their Rough Drafts program. It was great.
-- We performed at Falls Festival to a bunch of intensely confused bogans.
-- We applied for lots of things that we didn't get. For obvious reasons.
That's all. Xx

ABOUT SISTERS GRIMM
Sisters Grimm are Ash Flanders & Declan Greene. We formed in 2006, and for the last five years have been making theatre that is cheap, accessible, and extremely faggy.
Here are some things people have said about us:
"Flanders and Greene create queer gross-out plays that are hilarious, inane, intentionally shithouse, and often vile beyond belief." THE AGE
"Extremely important - albeit insane - theatre." INPRESS
"You will soon come to hate them. And their SHRIEKING." THE SCOTSMAN
Ash Flanders is a graduate of the Ballarat Arts Academy (formerly BAPA). In 2007 he performed Adam Cass one-man play I LOVE YOU, BRO, which then toured to the Malthouse, the Spiegeltent, London's Pleasance Theatre, Edinburgh Fringe and the Dublin Gay Theatre Festival, where Ash was nominated for Best Male Actor. His solo cabaret work NEGATIVE ENERGY INC recently completed a season at Theatreworks for their Midsumma "Men At Work" program.
Declan Greene is a writer and theatre-maker, whose works include A BLACK JOY, MOTH and POMPEII, L.A. His plays have been performed at La Mama, Malthouse, the Sydney Opera House, and the Brisbane Powerhouse. He has recieved the Malcolm Robertson Prize, the ANPC Bursary, the Green Room Award for 'Best New Original Work', and has been twice awarded by the R.E. Ross Trust. He also performs drag under the stupid name 'GLASS OV WAHTAH', for which he has recieved little to no acclaim.
FAT CAMP.
A DAMP, CAMP, COMEDY.
It's a tough and lonely life for an overweight girl. Makaila Goldstein's parents are dead, boys wont make eye contact, and she has to wash herself with a pack of baby wipes. Until one day, Makaila gets the opportunity of a lifetime: three weeks at the nation's number one fat camp! SEE WHERE THIS IS GOING?!?!?!?!!
Once at Camp Jolly she attracts new friends like a fat man attracts skin infections. New BFFs by the TONNE. All is going well until the camp leader, Jed Gristle, starts gaining weight and makes the shocking discovery that fat equals contagious! OMG!!! It's an OBESITY EPIDEMIC!!!! (get it?) Will Makaila find true love? Can Delia, the sinewy and psychotic ex-model, save the campers from their flabby fate? And if so, who will save the girls from Delia? -- You? I guess well just wait and see

REVIEWS:
"It's probably not to everyones taste, but I thought Fat Camp was the funniest thing I've seen on stage all year. [...] Flanders and Greene are a breath of weird smelling fresh air in the Melbourne theatre scene. Personally, I cant wait to see what these lovable loonies come up with next." INPRESS
"Fat Camp is cruel and idiotic and crass. And it had the first-night audience gasping and howling with guilty laughter. [...] Enjoy Sisters Grimm while we have them." HERALD SUN

"Greene directs the show with a deft hand, maintaining a swift page and dynamic rhythm. The performances by Flanders and Perry are delectable... Funny, funny, funny! Go see it." HERALD SUN
" * * * * What is Fringe about if not really weird theatrical experiences done really well? [...] For those with a bent for high-camp gore kitsch with a John Waters flavour, this is your show." THE ADVERTISER (Adelaide)
"Out of control in the bad-taste stakes. Top drawer trash.... A must-see." THE STAGE (Edinburgh)
BUMTOWN.
AN EPIC TRASH-MUSICAL.
WORDS BY SISTERS GRIMM.
MUSIC BY ROSE TURTLE ERTLER.
When sugar-sweet six-year-old Bitsy is kicked out onto the mean city streets, she thinks all hope is lost. But after an enchanted sleep, she finds herself magically transported to BUMTOWN: an idyllic junkyard shanty-village, populated by hobos, homos, hookers, and gutter-trash.
Teaming up with fast-talking man-killing hooker Connie Horowitz, Bitsy sets to starting life afresh... But her happiness is short-lived. A big, evil corporation is threatening to bulldoze BUMTOWN, to make way for A SHOPPING MALL. And the towns pompous Mayor would rather play rat-golf than do anything about it. The answer: Bloody hobo-revolution.
But will Bitsy save Bumtown in the end - or will it crumble like cardboard in the rain? What of Connie's love with the paint-sniffing artist Squirrel? And most importantly - why are all the hobos singing and dancing?
Featuring BRUCE CARBOON, ASH FLANDERS, SIMON MORRISON-BALDWIN, MILES RABIES, KELLY PARRY, GILLIAN PERRY, MARC TESTART, and AMY TURTON.

1 - 17 NOVEMBER, 2007
" Bumtown is a roller-coaster ride of bad taste, corrupt morals, rank outsiders, filthy showtunes, and the odd man-gina thrown in for good measure. [...] This is irreverent, inconsiderate, insanely chaotic stuff: punk theatre in the truest sense of the word, dancing deleriously to its own devilish drumbeat." INPRESS
"Had me longing for deafness." THE AGE
"Nothing truly prepares you for the moment the makeshift curtain is drawn back to reveal the atonal abrasion that the Sisters Grimm have pulled together in BUMTOWN." THE PROGRAM
CELLBLOCK BOOTY.
A FURIOUSLY FILTHY SEXPLOITATION RIOT.
"Racy rebel girls behind bars! Can solid steel contain their PASSION?!"
The county's toughest prison is no place for a French-Domenican nun. But when Sister Dominique of the Order of the Little Wing is thrown in the Big Dollhouse, she must survive hose-downs, knife-fights and a sadistic lesbian matron with a taste for torture. Justice has never been this rough, tough or sexy!
A high-camp comic sexxxtravaganza featuring turf-wars, drugmules, chain-gangs, snitches and gutternsipes, CELLBLOCK BOOTY celebrates all that is beautiful in the glamourous world of an all-female prison.

" * * * * [CELLBLOCK BOOTY] is corny porn, heaving cleavage, strip-search cabaret - as drugs, drag, and sadomasochism tangle to unleash psychedelic episodes. With a raunchy soundtrack to match the drop-the-soap opera on display, this cellblock really knows how to tango." THE SUNDAY MAIL (Adelaide)
"See CELLBLOCK BOOTY at any price... This is supremely important, albeit insane, theatre." INPRESS
"I'm not sure if the Sisters Grimm realise just how good they are. Dont get me wrong this is by no means slick, brilliantly written, soul touching theatre. Its cheap, chaotic and crappy. They do everything wrong and thats what makes it so right." AUSSIETHEATRE
LITTLE MERCY.

...Careful what you wish for.

17 - 27 MARCH, 2010
"A madly entertaining ride... Laugh-out loud funny." HERALD SUN
"[LITTLE MERCY] is acted with the appropriate po-faced melodramatic passion by its cast, with some ingenious stage tricks and multi-media... The production and performances are high quality, with Ash Flanders as the soft-hearted innocent Virginia stealing the night. Nonsense, yes, but irresistibly funny nonsense, delivered with brio and flair." THEATRENOTES
"Greene and Flanders should be rewarded lavishly for their witty script-writing and unconventional method of storytelling. [...] Wickedly original and entertaining." ARTSHUB
